After an ongoing battle with cancer, Sandy Miles, 66, of Brainerd, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at 12:28 a.m., surrounded by her family.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Ruby (Sisk) Doust; four brothers, Howard, Raymond, Richard and Floyd; three sisters, Donna Sheapard, Daisy Story and Rose Lell; her son, Rick Nelson; grandson, Quinten Nelson; and granddaughter, Jessica Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Miles, of Brainerd; two sisters, Ila Fanjoy and Irene (Clarence) Boyd, both of Brainerd; four brothers, George and Dan, of Brainerd, Steve, of Minneapolis, and Ed, of Florence, Ariz.; three daughters, Rayola (Mike) Hess, of Crosby, Mary Aanerud, of Brainerd, and Sandra Quam, of Breezy Point; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews
Services will be Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home. Friends may call Wednesday, July 20, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow at the Brainerd VFW at noon.
