PURL T. YAW
Purl T. Yaw, 81, of Naples, died Monday, January 11, 1954, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mildred Buck, in Clifton Springs, where he had been residing for the past few months. He was born in the Town of Naples on September 22, 1872, a son of Joel and Sarah Dedrick Yaw. He was a farmer in Gulick for a number of years, and later was a barber at Craig Colony, in Sonyea, for twenty-five years, before retiring to live at his home in this village. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Buck of Clifton Springs, and Mrs. Carmont C. Terry, of Rochester; a sister, Mrs. Arthur M. Freid, of Naples; eight grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. His wife, the former Myrtle Hammond, died in 1949. Services will be held from the Emory funeral home, in Naples, on Thursday at 2:30 p. m., conducted by Rev. Birger Halvorsen, pastor of the Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rose Ridge cemetery, in Naples.
