Mrs. Thelma Linder Browning, wife of Robert Lane Browning, died Wednesday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Berea Advent Christian Church near Smoaks. Burial, directed by Herndon and Son Funeral Home of Walterboro, will be in Hagan Cemetery. Mrs. Browning was born in Bamberg County, a daughter of Willie W. Linder and Mrs. Siller Kinsey Linder. She was a member of Charleston Advent Christian Church. Surviving are her mother of Smoaks; her husband; a son, Leon Linder of Moncks Corner; a daughter, Mrs. Treva Ruth Johnson of Toms River, N.J.; five brothers, W. W. Linder of St. Matthews, Tommy Linder of Orangeburg, Leonard Linder, Fred Linder and Jake Linder, all of Smoaks; two sisters, Mrs. Melbra Douglas and Mrs. Corine Linder, both of Smoaks; and four grandchildren. © The State, Columbia, SC, 26 Sep 1974
