Ray was born December 4, 1943 at Newport, WA, the son of James Robert Sr. and Ellen Cora (Brumley) Linton. He grew up in Priest River, Idaho. Ray was very athletic while in schoool. His athleticism never waned, for throughout his life he loved to play. Ray also loved tinkering on his 1953 Chevy Hot Rod Truck, was an avid outdoorsman and loved his dog, Bear, worked as an electrician in commercial construction.

The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to Spokane Hospice in memory of Ray. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday April 17, 1999 at the Sherman Knapp Funeral Home at Priest River, Idaho with burial to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Sherman Knapp Funeral Home of Newport, Washington.

• He was educated at Priest River High School in 1962 in Priest River, Bonner County, Idaho. He was a four-year athletic letterman.

• He was educated at a community college in Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho.

• He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 73.
