Funeral Services Held Wednesday for Mrs. Etta Coles

Maxwell, May 19--Funeral services for Mrs. Etta Coles, wife of William Coles were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Maxwell Church of Christ with the Rev. Ralph Hindman of Loring officiating.

Rev. Hindman read the following obituary:

Etta Elizabeth Kelderhouse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Kelderhouse was born near Marion, Ia. May 23, 1895 and died at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Saturday, May 10, 1947 at the age of 51 years, 11 months and 17 days.

She grew to womanhood near Collins and was united in marriage with William M. Coles, March 11, 1917.

They established their home near Collins and later moved to Alden continuing to live there and near Iowa Falls for 12 years before returning to Collins where they again lived for five years when they moved to the vicinity of Maxwell.

Besides her husband she is survived by four sons, Orville, Vern, Wendell and Alvin, all of Maxwell and two daughters, Ruby Roberton of Maxwell and Viola Stringham of Salt Lake City, Utah and four grandchildren.

Also surviving her are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Kelderhouse of Collins, and seven brothers and sisters, Chester Kelderhouse, Iowa Falls; Everett Kelderhouse of Collins; Floyd Kelderhouse of Zearing, Bertha Weis, Cedar Rapids; Mable Deal, Collins; Gladys Dulaney, Bluford, Ill. Viola Abarr of Des Moines and sixteen nieces and nephews.

Her many friends had great admiration for her because of her strength of character and serenity of spirit. In her passing her family fees the loss of a devoted wife and mother, her parents, brothers and sisters, a loyal daughter and sister and her associates, a staunch friend.

Burial was made in the Collins cemetery.
