Some time after 1880 Charles married Minnie R. Campbell. (He nick named his daughter after her.) It is thought she died in childbirth and was buried with the babe somewhere in Montgomery Co., Ks (probably near Tyro).
Secondly Charles married Mollie Mills of Independence, Ks. on Aug, 26, 1890. She is thought to have died of malaria.
Charles married 3rd to Elizabeth Francis Walsh in 1891 in St. Louis, Missouri. (Elizabeth was a strong Catholic and a widow with 3 daughters.) To this union were born 2 children: Ruth Marietta Croff 1893-1935. (My paternal grandmother) and John Bernard Croff 1897. Both were born in St. Louis, Mo.
Charles was working as an oil teamster. Some time before 1905 Charles moved his family back to Montgomery Co., Ks and settled in Caney. Charles continued working as a teamster. Elizabeth passed away in 1916, and Charles married a 4th time to a widow Rosa Geneva Bowker. They remained married until his death in 1943.
