DEATH OF JOSEPH SCOTT
Passed Away at His Home in This City This Morning
Joseph Scott of 500 South Eighteenth street passed away at 10 o'clock this morning after a long illness of many weeks. He had been a resident of Independence since 1871. Mr. Scott was born in Nauvoo, Ills., in Hancock county, in the year 1845 (sic).
He is survived by his widow, one son, Will Scott of this city, also his daughter, Mrs. Nellie Garm of Denver, Colo., and Bert Scott, his nephew of this city. All of them were present at his bedside when death came.
The funeral service will be held at the family home at 500 South Eighteenth street Saturday at 3:30 p. m.
