#2 James Bradford, married ca 1867; marriage record not found
John & Anna Dalton are listed in 1860 census of Gilmer Co; no children. John Dalton is believed to have died during the Civil War.
James Bradford was son of Joseph & Mary Bradford, who are buried in Gilmer Co, GA (FAG memorials 57332295 & 57332387).
In 1870 census of Gilmer Co, GA, James & Anna Bradford have two children - William (male), age 1; Arty (female), age 6 months. In 1880 census they have three children: William, age 12; Artia M., age 10; Elias, age 6.
Census data for both the Bradford & Watkins families (they were neighbors in Cherry Log, Gilmer Co, GA) indicate that Anna was 11-12 years older than James Bradford. By 1900, James & Anna Bradford had moved to adjoining Fannin Co, GA. The 1900 census indicates they have been married for 33 years & had three children, all still living. By 1900, all three children were also married & in their own households.
Soon after that 1900 census, James & Anna Bradford, along with their two younger children & their families, left Fannin Co, GA, "headed west" but taking the time to explore on their journey. They reportedly wandered up into Canada and the northwestern US before turning southeast into Oklahoma. Anna was age 65 before beginning this "venture" - and she passed away before 1910. In 1910 census, James Bradford was living with son Elias in "Texas, Washita Co, OK". James Bradford has not been found in any later census data.
