Henry was the son of Owen & Charlotte (Belcher) Sizemore. He married Ollie Elizabeth Masters in Alleghany Co, VA on March 20, 1904.

Their children were: Paul Thomas, Violet Washington, Nellie Marie, Charles Owen, Everett, & Frank Wyatt Franklin.

Sometime after the birth of their son, Paul Thomas, on July 1, 1907, Ollie & Harden left WV & moved to the West, following his parents & siblings, hoping to profit from the booming timber industry. They must have felt a spirit of anticipation & adventure as they boarded a train to WA with their young children, Willis & Paul.

They were living in Meskill, Lewis Co, WA when Ollie gave birth to their daughter, Violet Washington, on August 15, 1909. By the time the Federal Census was taken on April 28, 1910, Harden had a fairly prestigious job as a train engineer in a large saw mill operation.

ON APRIL 28, 1910,
Harden H. & Ollie E., ages 25 & 31, were renting a home in Dryad, Lewis Co, WA where he had a fairly prestigious job as a train engineer in a large saw mill operation. Their children were Willis, age 13; Paul, 3; & Violet, 9 months.

ON FEBRUARY 25/26, 1920,
Harden & Ollie E. Sizemore, ages 38 & 39, were renting a home in Dunlap, Alleghany Co, VA on Jerry's Run with their children Paul T., age 12; Violet W., 10; Nellie M., 8; & Charles O., 5. Harden had a job at a saw mill as a sawyer.

Boarders included Barney Masters, age 31, who worked at a local lumber camp; William Low, 26, who had a job working with lumber for a timber company, Irine Morgan, 22, & her daughter, Violet, 2 years & 9 months.

ON APRIL 7, 1930,
Harden H. & Ollie E., ages 49 & 50, owned a farm valued at $2000 in Covington, Alleghany Co, VA. Their children were Charles O., age 15; Everette M., 9; & Frank W., 7.

ON MAY 10, 1940,
Hardin & Ollie E., ages 58 & 59, owned a farm valued at $500 on Route 622, Kanawlis Turnpike in Boiling Spring, Alleghany Co, VA. Two sons lived with them; Everette, age 19, who worked for the forestry department, & Wyatt F., age 17.

It was around the time that Ollie died on October 14, 1942, when Harden, age 60, registered for the WWII draft.

Ollie died in Covington on March 9, 1962.

Harden, age 66, and Mrs. Mahala Marcum, 56, were married in Dunlow, Wayne Co, WV on October 2, 1948, by Rev. Calvin Brewer of the United Baptist Church.

It is unknown at which point in his life Harden became an ordained minister. Eventually, his son, Everette, followed in his footsteps, and they sometimes worked together holding meetings or conducting funeral services.

One such time was published in the Raleigh Register on Tuesday, October 21, 1952, in Beckley, WV.

Henry, age 81, a Minister & Teacher, was a patient in Alleghany Memorial Hospital when he died at 9:30 p.m. on November 9, 1962, from a Myocardial Infarction. Mahalia Sizemore was shown as his spouse. His son, Wyatt F. Sizemore, was the informant on his death certificate. He was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

"REV. HARDEN SIZEMORE
Funeral services for the Rev. Harden Henry Sizemore, 81, Route 1, Covington, VA., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Loving Funeral Home Chapel in Covington with the Rev. John Walker in charge. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Sizemore died at 9:30 a.m. Friday in a Covington hospital after a long illness.

Born in Wyoming County, Oct. 9, 1881, he was a son of the late Owen and Charlotte Belcher Sizemore. A retired Baptist minister, he lived in the Covington area the past 35 years.

His first wife, Mrs. Ollie Elizabeth Sizemore, preceded him in death Oct. 14, 1942.

Surviving are his second wife, Mrs. Mahalia Sizemore, Dunlow; four sons, Paul Pl, Everette E., and Wyatt S., all of Route 1, Covington, and Charles O., Beckley; two daughters, Mrs. Violet Coleman and Mrs. Nellie Campbell, both of Covington; a brother, Calvin, Covington; two sisters, Mrs. Cosby Hoke and Mrs. Sena Hoke, both of Route 1, Covington; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the R.M. Loving Funeral Home Chapel in Covington with the Rev. John Walker in charge. burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive callers from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today."
