Merle Lee Agnew, son of Floyd and Pearl Agnew, passed away at the Rosary Hospital in Corning. Iowa. June 22, 1975, at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 17 days.
Merle was born in Nodaway, Iowa, October 5. 1906. He graduated from Nodaway High School in May of 1828, bring the vice president of his class.
During the years he resided in Nodnway, he was employed at the ice cream factory in Villisca, la. for 18 years. In the early 1930's he was employed by the railroad as an electrician.
After his health faltered, he came to reside at the Adams County Home July 7, 1959.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wayne Airnew.
Merle is survived by his step-mother Nina Agnew; one brother, Parley Agnew of Pacific Junction, Iowa; and three half-brothers, Harold Agnew of Glenvood and Tom and Davis Agnpw of Nodaway,
Survivors include two aunts. Mrs. Ethel Johnson, Villisca. la.; Mrs. Mabel Ball, St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine nieces and nephews, 5 great nieces and nephews and 8 cousins.
Funeral services were held at the Larkin Roland Funeral Home in Corning, June 24 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. James King officiating. Interment was in the Nodnway Cemetery. Masonic rites by Austin Brown of Circle Lodge Were conducted.
