Funeral services for Floyd Lee Agnew were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 1971, at the Sutphen Funeral Home with Rev. Nadim E. Salkaly officiating.
Honorary pall bearers were Bernie Dellinger, Walter Williams, Julius March, Gilber Rider, Otto Heard, and George Phillips. Pall bearers were Gail Heard, Malcolm Shiples, Loren Larson, Raymond Spring, Olin Strait, and Dale Stalder.
Flower bearers were Frances Snider, and Ethel Dellinger.
Joyce Jenkins and Emma Jeanne Shipley sand “Beyond the Sunset” and “In the Garden” accompanied by Mabel Dunn.
Steve Fitzwater was in charge of the register.
Interment and concluding services were held at the Nodaway Cemetery with Stuphen Funeal Home in charge.
Floyd Lee Agnew, son of John and Julia Wilden Agnew, was born in Carroll County, Iowa, December 15, 1881 and died February 3, 1971 at the age of 80 years, 1 month, and 18 days. He moved to Adams County with his parents at the age of nine.
He was united in marriage to Pearl McKisson in Brookfield, Missouri in 1904. To this union were born three sons, Merle, Darley, and Wayne. During the years he resided in Nodaway he farmed, was employed by the railroad and was a schoolboy driver for 24 years.
On July 12, 1932, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Reynolds. To this union were also born three sons, Harold, Tom, and David.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, his wife, Pearl, and a son, Wayne.
He is survived by two sisters, Ethel Johnson of Villisca and Mabel Ball of St. Petersburg, Florida; his wife, Nina of Nodaway; five sons, Merle of Adas County, Darley of Pacific Junction, Harold of Glenwood, Tom of Higginsville, Missouri, and David of Nodaway, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
