Mrs. Ashton had lived in Archer City nursing home since January 1984.
She came to Texas with her parents.
Miss Fannie Sturgeon married Clayton Sidney Ashton on 11 June 1923 in Bowie, Texas. They moved to Archer City in the fall of 1924.
Mrs. Ashton was a charter member of the Archer City First Assembly of God church and was awarded a certification for being a member over 50 years. She served as music director for a number of years. Mrs. Ashton taught an adult Sunday school class and was active in the Women's Missionary Council and all phases of church work.
