Dorothy Ann Brock, age 88, of Archer City, Texas passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015, in Lakeside, Texas.

Services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born July 24, 1926 in Archer City, Texas to Clayton Sidney Ashton and Fannie Susan Sturgeon Ashton.

Dorothy married the love of her life, Charles "Pat" Brock on March 26, 1945 in Archer City. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2005.

She worked at Todd Houston shipyard for three years and was maid of honor and christened the SSA Herbert D. Crowley ship. She welcomed wounded soldiers when returning from war.

Dorothy was employed by Archer City ISD for thirty-three years where she was a staple; assisting teachers, principals, administration and most importantly the students. During her tenure, everyone knew Dorothy and couldn't wait to greet her. She would always have that beautiful smile on her face when she worked in the lunch line. She was an avid supporter for all the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats sports.

When her children were going to school in Archer City, everyone wanted to be at her house. It was a focal point for many years as Dorothy loved to cook for everyone. She loved having the cheerleaders and football players down for tacos. The players would bring the food and she would cook for them. This is a tradition that carried down to her grandchildren too. She was well known for her delicious coconut cream pies.

Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archer City.

Survivors include one son, Charles Brock, Jr. and wife, Nita of Talihina, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sue McKennon and husband, Donnie of Lakeside, Texas; one brother, Jimmy Ashton and wife, Jean of Archer City; sister-in-law, Jimmie Dee Ashton of Iowa Park; six grandchildren, Christie Brock of Caney, Oklahoma, Diane Glenn and husband, Rodney of Edmond, Oklahoma, Michelle Mayo and husband, James of Fort Worth, Patrick Shipp and Jimmy Wiley of Fort Worth, Stephanie McKennon of Dallas, Jerene Boronow and husband, Bobby of Fort Worth; and three great-grandchildren, Parker and Peyton Glenn, and Benny Mayo.
