Ruth Waltine Edmondson, 84, of Paris, went to be with her Lord Thursday, June 19, 2003.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Doug Miller and Ray Starnes officiating.

Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, at the funeral home.

Ruth Waltine Duckett was born on April 28, 1919, in Groesbeck, TX, a daughter of Walter C. and Bertha A. Duckett.

She attended schools in Cooper and Comanche and graduated from Comanche High School.

She married Fred Lambeth Caldwell on December 22, 1937.

During the time that he was overseas in WORLD WAR II, she worked at Fort Walters on B-52 Bombers and later became a secretary in their office.

She had two children, Michael Fred Caldwell in 1946 and Cheryl Ann Caldwell in 1951.

She was a stay-at-home mom during their school year.

She later worked as the secretary for J. Ed. Morneau Insurance Claims and Jesse Davis Insurance Claims until her retirement.

She was an excellent seamstress for family, friends, and the public.

She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church and the Couples Class.

Her husband of 36 years, Fred, passed away in 1972 and she lost her son, Michael, in 1977.

In 1989, she married O.M. Edmondson of Paris.

She was loved by many friends.

She adored her grandchildren and always had time for them.

Before being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, she lost her only sister to the same disease.

She would want everyone to help in the research for a cure for this debilitating disease.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son; and sister, Onita.

Survivors include her husband, O.M. Edmondson; daughter, Cheryl Ann (Chris) Brown; grandchildren, Brandi Brown and Brent Brown, Daren Caldwell and Jeffery Caldwell; two nephews. Other family members include two stepdaughters, Marsha Edmondson Harlow, Brenda Edmondson (Dennis) Chamberlain; and DeeDee Harlow and Trey Wallace.
