On 20 May 1866 Theodore, 23, married Julia Frances Perry, 19, daughter of William Riley and Sophronia (Colton) Perry, at Copper Harbor, Michigan. They had at least five children before the couple divorced and Julia remarried.
Theodore married Anna Marie Margaret Jensen (Daughter of Jens Jensen) of Denmark about 1886. One daughter was born December 1888 named Stella Marie Williams.
Anna Marie Margaret died due to complications of childbirth in January 1889.
