GEORGE LILES FOUND DEAD
CROW STAGE – Seventy-four year old George W. Liles of Crow Stage, object of a search by 125 men and boys since last Tuesday night, was found dead on the Fluaitte farm near here about 4 p.m. Thursday.

The elderly man, who reportedly lived with relatives on the farm, went after the cows at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Deputy Coroner Fred Buell said the search began 45 minutes later when Liles did not return. With assistance of high school boys, neighbors and the crew of Western Lane Fire Patrol Assn., the search continued all day Wednesday and Thursday. Liles had been dead for some time when found and presumably died of a heart attack, the coroner said.

The body was found about three-quarters of a mile behind the Fluaitte farm. Survivors include two sons, George D. Liles and Herbert M. Liles, both of Crow Stage.

Funeral arrangements will be announced from the Poole-Larsen Mortuary in Eugene, where the body was taken.
