Teresita Apelado Abara, 54, of Oxnard, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from complications of a massive stroke. She died peacefully at Sherman Oaks Hospital surrounded by her family.
Teresita was born July 23, 1956 in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya to Deogracias and Teofila Apelado. She graduated from Ortanez University in Manila in midwifery. She was a midwife in the Philippines and immigrated to the US in 1986. She was employed by McCormick Tubed Products and Chalet Pointe as a caregiver.
Teresita is survived by her husband, Rolando, and their children: Christina and Steve; her mother, Teofila Apelado, brothers: Carlos Apelado, Robert Apelado, and sister, Fe Grace Cariazo and their families, all of Bambang, Philippines, Nueva Vizcaya; sisters: Jocelyn Alafriz, from Milan, Italy; Elvira Alega and Elsie Estrada of Toronto, Canada and their families. She is preceded in death by her father, Deogracias Apelado, and brother, Ricardo Apelado of Bambang. Also survived by her parents-in-law, Leonides and Indelecia Abara; in-laws: Dan and Nancy Arucan; Edmund and Lupita Abara; Hugo and Mercedes Razo and their families and Melvin Abara.
A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Santa Clara Mortuary, 2370 North H Street, Oxnard. Vigil will start at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Santa Clara Mortuary.
Burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
