Obituary.
Elgie Herman Miller was born Sept. 8, 1873, and died at his home in Valparaiso, on the 22d of September, 1906, at the age of 33 years and 14 days. He was the second of three children born Mr. and Mrs. Horace B. Miller, who with the brother and sister still survive him. He was married May 25, 1895, to Clara B. Sherman. To them one child, Hazel, now aged 9 years, was given. Elgie was a member of the M. E. church, having joined in the winter of 1893, while Rev. Lewis was pastor. All his life he spent in Valapraiso, dying in the same house in which he first saw the light. From his boyhood Elgie was a favorite with all who knew him. Though quiet and retiring in disposition, his kindly acts won him warm friends. He was a conscientious worker, always fully trusted by those whom he served. To the very last, when his strength had long since failed, he remained true to the duties that had been his. For years he had been a great sufferer, but through it all he was patient and uncomplaining, never losing courage, but always making a brave fight. The family, who so deeply mourn him, must know that his friends grieve with them for one whose life was, in every act and deed ever "faithful and true."
