Ellaville- Mr. Marvin Eugene DeVane Sr, 81, of Ellaville died early Tuesday June 6, 1995, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wed, June 7, 1995 at the Ellaville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Asbury Walton and Brooks Partian officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellavillle Cemetery.
Born Oct 27, 1913, in Schley County, Mr. DeVane had lived here all of his life. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee DeVane. He was a retired owner of DeVane Oil Company of Ellaville, member of the Board of Education for many years, former state representative for Schley County, and was a member of the Ellaville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Durham DeVane of Ellaville, three daughters, One son, one sister, Mrs. Marvin Hill of Vienna; 12 grandchildren and four grat grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Gidens Funeral Home of Ellaville is in charge of arrangements.
