LLOYD BARR DIES AT AGE OF 67 YEARS

Union Township Farmer Was Life-Long Resident of County

Lloyd J. Barr, Union township farmer and a life-time resident of this county, died Friday, August 12 at his home in Union township. He was 67 years of age.

Mr. Barr was born in Jackson township January 22, 1899 a son of Arthur C. and Anna Sawhill Barr. His life was spent in farming. He was a member of the First Christian church of Winterset.

Mr. Barr was married to Lois Ramsey at Earlham on February 23, 1922.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Lucas of Bayne City, Michigan, Mrs. Irma Roach of Cumming, Mrs. Shirley Cornielson of Minburn, and Mrs. Elsie Paullin of San Diego, Calif.; a son, James Barr of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Benson of Afton, and Mrs. Flossie Criss and Mrs. Bessie Braman, both of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Monday from the First Christian church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. William E. Bowles. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
