Robert Hopkins was born on January 6, 1925, in Bloomfield to the late Rube Hopkins and Carrie Glenn Hopkins and died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, at his home in rural Bloomfield at the age of 72.

Mr. Hopkins worked in supply at the Mingo Job Corps. He was a Veteran of World War II and a member of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge.

His survivors include two sons, Donald Powers of Dexter and Michael Hopkins of Bloomfield; one brother, Howard Hopkins of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister Ruby Launius.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 1997, in the Rainey Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the West Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
