She was born September 9, 1911, in Farr West, Weber County, Utah, to Joseph Arthur Taylor and Caroline Housley. At the age of eight, she moved with her family to St. Anthony, Idaho, where she lived until her marriage. As the eldest of ten children, she had much to do at home, but found time to teach children in church and participate in drama, operettas, and dance programs. At age 16, she began a hobby in genealogy, which she ardently pursued until the last years of her life.
On August 9, 1937, she married her dance partner, John Rulon Christensen, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They lived in Ashton, Idaho, for three years, then moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they remained until John's death July 14, 1974. She then returned to Utah to be close to her sons, and was a Provo resident until the time of her death.
She was an excellent seamstress, an avid reader, and was very involved in the education and well-being of her sons and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, John (Jack) Christensen of Orem, Utah, James Christensen of Eugene, Oregon, and Tom Christensen of Sandy, Utah; four brothers and one sister, Elmo Taylor of St. Anthony, Idaho, Gene Taylor of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Daris (Dee) Taylor of Portland, Oregon, Robert Taylor of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mrs. Wilson (Venice) Armstrong of West Valley City, Utah; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, a foster brother, and two sisters.
