Samuel Erwin Leech was the youngest child and third son of Captain Samuel and Anne Stewart Leech. He was a prominent man in Montgomery County; was County Commissioner in 1833; member of the Assembly in 1836-1838; a justice of the peace in 1838, and treasurer of the county in 1839. He married and had issue.
