Son of the late Harry John Olberg, Jr., and Frances May (McCallum) Olberg, both of California. He was an Electrial Engineer for GTE for many years. He was a former lifelong member of the Pearl Harbor Survivor's Association, Amateur Radio Relay League of America and his call sign was WISNN, USS Massachusetts Member Comittee, and was a Technical Expert for the Noble Prize Team that developed radio telescope for Harvard University. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
