Jeanne K. McQueed, 78, died February 1, 1999, at her home on Longview.
She was born May 11, 1920, in Petaluma, Calif., to Harry John Olberg., Jr., and Frances May (McCallum) Olberg. She graduated from business college and went on to work as an executive secretary at the Petaluma Shipyards during World War II. She was very proud to have steered one of the battleships under the Golden Gate Bridge.
She and James A. McQueed, were married in February 1946, and moved to Longview late that year.
Mrs. McQueed was a clerk at the Boondox Market, the 40th Avenue Grocery Store and the Triangle Dry Cleaners.
She was an avid gardner and enjoyed reading and visiting with her friends. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Longview Eagles Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters; a brother, Stirling Olberg, of Boston; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild. A brother, Douglas Olberg, and a sister, Elizabeth (Olberg) Burnett, predeceased her in death.
The funeral service were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Steel Chapel at Longview Memorial Park. The services were conclude at the chapel. Interment followed at Longview Memorial Park. [Information extracted from The Daily News, (Longview, WA); 2 February 1999, P. B3, part 2.]
