VIRGINIA BEACH - Ronald G. Doyle, 74, passed away on April 6, 2010. He was born April 27, 1935 in New York City, N.Y., to the late William and Ruth Doyle. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and then worked for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard before he retired. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Doyle; a grandson, Austin Doyle; two granddaughters, Margaret and Lynn Watson; seven sisters, Carole Carlson, Eleanore Riddle, Linda McMahon, Lorraine Doyle, Ruth Gibson, Margaret Brown, and Susan Tunis; two brothers, Daniel Doyle, and Anthony Betz; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Doyle was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Austin Doyle; his second wife, Margaret Doyle; and three brothers, Stephen Doyle, William Doyle, and Edward Betz. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dave and Marianne for their outstanding care and support. Ronald was a kind and generous man always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A graveside service will be conducted April 24 at 11 a.m. in the Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery, 1549 Holland Road, Suffolk, by Father Piotr Bialkowski. The family will receive friends in the Graham Hall at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, because of his love for dachshunds and birds, memorial contributions may be given to your favorite animal rescue group or Humane Society. Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, is in charge of the arrangements.
