Stephen Michael "Opie" Doyle, 51, of the 4700 block of Pinehurst Ave., a retired carpet installer, died May 4, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Doyle was born in Keene, N.H., and was retired from Rug Rat Enterprises. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his mother and father, Ruth Smith Doyle and William H. Doyle, both of Norfolk; eight sisters, Carol D. Carlson of Bristol, Conn., Eleanore V. Riddle, Lorraine Lillian Doyle, Ruth M. Gibson and Christine C. Dew, all of Virginia Beach; Ann L. McMahon of Walingford, Conn., Margaret Mary Brown of Norfolk and Susan E. Tunis of Boca Raton, Fla.; three brothers, Tony Betz of Long Island, N.Y., Daniel E. Doyle of Norfolk and Ronald Doyle of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph P. Lehman. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, where visitation will follow until 9 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
