Eunice was born Oct. 22, 1841, in New York, daughter of David Davis, and a mother, Dolly (Finch) Davis, both born in that state. She died Jan. 31, 1915, in Barron, aged 73 years, 3 months and 9 days and was buried there in Wayside Cemetery.

Eunice married twice with her first marriage to Martin Kelly who was killed in action during the Civil War while serving in the Thirteenth Pennsylvania Reserves, also known as the Bucktails Regiment. Their one known child was Dolly Kelly, born 1861 in Penn.

On Apr. 4, 1870 Eunice married John Lorenzo Edes at Maiden Rock, Pierce Co., Wis. John was born Feb. 17, 1844, in Lisbon, St. Laurence Co., New York. He died April 9, 1931, at Yoncalla, Oregon, aged 87 years, 1 month and 22 days, where he had lived for the previous twelve years. His body was shipped by rail to Barron and interred there beside the remains of his wife Eunice in Wayside Cemetery on April 15, 1931. His G.A.R. style gravestone is inscribed "John R. Edes Feb. 17, 1844 - Apr. 9, 1931. Eunice R. Edes Oct. 22, 1841 Jan. 31, 1915." Their children were:

Mrs. John Edes

Mrs. John Edes of northwest of Hillsdale, died Sunday morning, Jan. 31. She has been in poor health for a number of years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, and much beloved by all that had the pleasure of her acquaintance. She will be much missed in the community. The sorrowing friends and relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their sad bereavement.

Eunice Davis was born in Pennsylvania, Oct. 22, 1841, died Jan. 31, 1915, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Martin Kelly, who was killed in the Civil War. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Margaret Porter, now of Seymour, Mo. After his death she joined her parents in Minnesota.

She was married to John Edes at Maiden Rock. Wis., April 4, 1869. To this union five children were born, one a daughter, died in childhood, the other four with an aged husband live to mourn her loss. The children are: Almon Edes, of Hillsdale; George Edes of Minneapolis; Mrs. Alvin Rogers of Canton; Mrs. Adella Garner of Hillsdale. They moved to Manitowoc, Wis. in 1873, and have lived in the state till the time of her death, moving to Barron county in 1889.

She also leaves two brothers, John Davis in Florida; Benjamin Davis of Hillsdale.

The funeral was held at the home Tuesday morning, Rev. Alborn, officiating, assisted by Rev. Wolfe. Interment made in the Barron cemetery. [February 4, 1915 in the Barron County Shield, Barron, Wisconsin.]
