Jonathon Almon Edes, 83, of 915 Okanogan Street and former Entiat Valley resident, died in a local hospital Friday following an extended illness.

Mr. Edes was born on April 28, 1870 at Lake City, Minnesota, later moving to Downsville, Wisconsin, where he attended school. He was married to Lulu Blackburn on November 26, 1890, in Hillsdale, Wisconsin. In 1927, they came to the Entiat Valley from Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Mr. Edes was employed by the C. A. Harris & Son Mill for many years as millwright. Following his retirement in 1944, he came to Wenatchee to make his home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Edes had celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary last month.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Lulu Edes, at home; three sons, Archie and Cecil Edes, both of Wenatchee and Elmer Edes of Pilot Rock, Oregon; one brother, George Edes of Yonculla, Oregon, two sisters, Mary Rogers of Yonculla, Oregon and Mrs. Della Garner of Hillsdale, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date by Jones & Jones.
