George Robert Bobby Holly Sr., 79, of Maynard, died Wed. June 29, 2011 at the Genesis Westford House. He was born in Concord and raised in Maynard, the son of the late William H. Sr. and Mary Mabel (Comeau) Holly. Mr. Holly was a graduate of Maynard High School, and served honorably in the US Navy aboard the USS Yellowstone during the Korean War. Before his retirement he was employed for more than 35 years as a lineman for Boston Edison, based in Maynard. A lifetime resident of Maynard and Acton, in his younger years he enjoyed gardening and golf. He also loved following Bostons professional sports teams. He is survived by four children, two grandchildren, a sister Leita; a brother John, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mildred and Virginia Holly, William H. Holly Jr. and Gloria Nilges. The funeral Mass was celebrated Wed. July 6th in St. Bridgets Church, 1 Percival St., Maynard, with burial following in St. Bridgets Cemetery, Great Rd. (Rte 117) Maynard
