Death certificate lists Dec 6, 1949 as date of birth. George King, age 72, was a contractor and pioneer he died of the frailty of old age at his home. A cortege nearly a mile long followed the body to the church and according to reports was the largest funeral ever held at Casco.

Mr. King was born at Cooperstown and spent most of his life at Casco. The greatest part of the Green Bay & Western railroad between Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay was built through the efforts of Mr. King and his partner, Edward Decker.

He had three grand children, Dorothy, Arthur, and Betty.
