SALEM - Wilbur Daniel Dalton, age 71, of Salem, died Monday, June 27, 2011, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.
He was born on January 30, 1940, in Pittsylvania County, and was the son of the late Otha Pettrice Dalton and the late Gracie Crowder Dalton. Mr. Dalton served in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by one sister, Mabel D. Lewis of Danville and four brothers, Carson A. Dalton of Chatham, Earl T. Dalton of Matoaca, James F. Dalton of Burlington, N.C., and Kenneth P. Dalton of Ringgold.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha D. Shelton and one brother, Abner D. Dalton.
Graveside services will be conducted at Hillcrest Burial Park on Saturday, July 2, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Warnock, III officiating.
The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Saturday, July 2, 2011 one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence of Carson A. Dalton, 1645 Chalk Level Road, Chatham.
