Carson Anderson Dalton, 89, of Chatham, died on May 29, 2017, at his residence. He was born on December 3, 1927, in Pittsylvania County, son of Otha Petrice Dalton and Gracie Crowder Dalton. He is survived by his wife, Jean Worsham Dalton. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Carson worked for Transcontinental Gas Company and pastored churches for 30 years in Va. He is also survived by two daughters, Teresa D. Easley and Carolyn D. (David) Helms; two sons, David C. (Nancy) Dalton and Steven G. (Tarin) Dalton; ten grandchildren; sister, Mabel D. Lewis; brothers, James Dalton and Earl T. Dalton. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Bertha D. Shelton; brothers, Kenneth P. Dalton, Wilbur D. Dalton, and Abner D. Dalton. Burial will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
