Edmund R. "Ed" Dickman, 94, Oakley, died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Logan County Manor.

He was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Sheridan County to Francis Bernard "Barney" and Regina (Robben) Dickman.

He married Barbara Halbleib in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1950. He later married Theresa Morin in 1953. She preceded him in death in 1991. He was a retired farmer. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Gerard and wife, Becky, Colby, and Bernard and wife, Karen, Menlo; two foster sons, Joe Chaffin, Haven, and Gene Chaffin, Hutchinson; a foster daughter, Betty Chaffin, Hutchinson; a brother, Gilbert, Denver; a sister, Jeanne Rietcheck, Grinnell; six grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, John, Tony, Msgr. Bernard, Dave, Al, Vince and Bob Dickman; four sisters, Burgie Albers, Martha Feldt, Sr. Regina Marie and Sr. Mary Martha; and a granddaughter, Michelle Snethen.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Angelus; burial in St. Paul Cemetery, with military honors by Wheatland Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2864.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church.

A rosary/wake will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
