Barney Dickman was called to his heavenly home by his Maker on Friday, Nov. 12 at 3:45 p. m. at the age of 80 years, seven months and 28 days.

Mr. Dickman was born at Bishop, Illinois on March 15, 1874. He was baptized a Catholic at Alton, Illinois. Mr. Dickman moved with his parents to Clay County, Kansas in 1884. They lived there until 1893 when they moved to Sheridan County. A few years later he purchased homestead rights on the farm on which he spent most of his life.

On Oct. 14, 1902 he was united in marriage to Regina Robben in St. Paul's Church at Angelus. Rev. Martin Schmidt officiated at the marriage. To this union fourteen children were born. On Oct. 9, 1945 his wife passed away. He stayed on the farm until the summer of 1947 at which time he moved to Grinnell and lived with his son, Bob and family until his death.

Mr. Dickman lived an exemplary Christian life and will be sadly missed in the communities in which he lived.

Mr. Dickman was a Charter Member of the First Knights of Columbus Council at Angelus. All nine of his sons are member of the K. of C.

Those who will miss their dear ole Dad are John of Grinnell; Tony and wife, Phyllis of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Rev. Bernard of Zurich; Sister Regina Marie of Salina, Kansas; Vincent and wife, Ferne, of Grinnell; Burgie and husband, Joe Albers of Oakley; Bob and wife, Eunice of Grinnell; Sister Mary Martha of Monett, Mo.; Ed and wife, Theresa of Menlo; Martha and husband, Bill Feldt of Menlo; Gilbert and wife, Juanita of Wichita; Dave and wife, Lourene of Grinnell; Al and wife, Verleen of Menlo and Jeanne and husband, James Rietcheck of Grinnell and forty-three grandchildren.

He has two living brothers: Frank and Henry of Oakley. Brothers and sisters who preceded him in death are: John of Grinnell, who passed away the same day as Mr. Dickman; Mrs. Mary Mollering of Angelus; Martin of Idaho; Herman of Grinnell; Joe of Angelus; Bill of Oakley; Mrs. Rosa Scheetz of Menlo; and one sister, who died in infancy.
