GREEN COUNTY KENTUCKY OBITUARY – 1952
William H. Cantrell died at his home near Holly Grove Baptist Church Wednesday, February 20, at the age of 81. He was a native of Green County and was a merchant at Summersville for a number of years. He was married to Cynthia J. Cantrell in 1894. To this union 5 children were born. His wife and 3 sons preceded him in death. In June 1943, he was married to Nanie McCubbin Thomas. He was a loyal member of the Church of the Nazarene at Summersville. He is survived by his wife and 2 daughters, Mrs. Ida Milby, Summersville, Mrs. Mable Rigdon, Louisville; 4 sisters, Mrs. Bessie Risen, Hodgenville, Mrs. Maud McCubbins, Louisville, Mrs. Lula Milby, Greensburg, Mrs. Viva Pollard, Alton, IL; 6 brothers, Rev. N.L. Cantrell, Robert, Claud, Sam, Lee, and Rev. L.B. Cantrell, Hodgenville. Funeral services were conducted at Holly Grove Church by his pastor, Rev. J.B. Root, assisted by Rev. Manley Towles. Burial was in the church cemetery.
