Calvin Leroy Green departed this life on Monday, June 27, 2011, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Calvin was born on August 1, 1963, in the Buck Island community, the youngest son of the late Henry and Lois Green.

He was also predeceased by four brothers, Daniel, Henry, James and George Green; one sister, Brenda Green; and two nieces, Sonya Dillard and Sherri Green.

Calvin joined Spring Hill Baptist Church at an early age. He also attended Albemarle High School.

He is survived by his son, Devante Moore; three sisters, Matilda Carter, Mary Lewis and her husband, Andrea, all of Charlottesville and Janette Green of Buck Island; two brothers, Harold Green and his wife, Edith, of Esmont, and Walter Green of Charlottesville; his long time devoted friend, Penny Riker of Charlottesville; one aunt, Madeline Reaves of Charlottesville; a special aunt, Betty Ann Smith of Buck Island; one uncle, Benjamin Smith, also of Buck Island; three sisters- in-law, Gloria and Joyce Green of Charlottesville and Shelia Green of Buck Island; and a host of nieces, nephews, great- nephews, great-nieces and other relatives and friends.

Calvin shared a very special relationship with the Flynn family.

A memorial service was held Friday, July 1, 2011, at Union Run Baptist Church in Keswick, Virginia, with Pastor Lloyd Feggans officiating. Inurnment at the family cemetery in Buck Island, Virginia.
