Nannie Mcpherson, 56, of LaGrange, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 5 a.m. in her residence following a year long battle with cancer.

Mrs. Mcpherson has lived in this area since the age of four, coming from Kentucky. She was a homemaker, and attended World Harvest Family Worship Center in Garrett.

She enjoyed family time with her children and grandchildren, get-togethers with family and friends, gardening, garage sales, and attending church.

She was born March 25, 1953, in West Liberty, Kentucky, to Adolph and Nora (Bolen) Collins. On March 15, 1997, in Kendallville, she married Andrew Mcpherson.

Surviving are her husband, Andrew Mcpherson of LaGrange; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Teresa and Gary Hunter of Kendallville, Terry Brown of LaGrange, and Tammy and Jose Santacruz of Avilla; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stacy Shirk of Garrett and Scot and Heather Shirk of Garrett; three stepdaughters, Twana Maurer of Waterloo, Amanda Mcpherson of Woodburn, and Shana Mcpherson of Auburn; a stepson, Adam Mcpherson of Garrett; 21 grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mary Bolen of LaGrange, her twin sister Annie and Don Kessler of North Manchester, Betty and Dave VanHoozer of Wolcottville, Helen and Jack Chriswell of Waterloo, and Josephine Bailey of Montgomery, Michigan; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roy and Bonnie Collins of Kendallville and Ray Collins of Albion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Irene Belcher and Geraldine Collins; a brother, Sonny Collins; a stepson, Wayne Mcpherson; and a grandson, Lucas Brown.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Harbor of Love Church, Kendallville, with Pastor Charles Mosley and Pastor Willie Collins officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Scot Shirk, Stacy Shirk, Andy Mcpherson, Brandon Shirk, Gary Hunter, and Jose Santacruz.

Calling will be Sunday, March 29, 2009, after 4 p.m. at the church where there will be an evening service at 6 p.m.

The family will have private services on Saturday in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, with Pastor Yvonne Brown of World Harvest Family Worship Center in Garrett officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
