Kenneth Ray “Big Chew” Collins, age 73, of Columbia City, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Collins was born on April 10, 1942 in Gillmore, Kentucky to the late Adolph Collins and Nora Bolen.

Kenneth worked for Ball Brass Aluminum Foundry for 25 years. Big Chew loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and chewing tobacco.

Survivors include: Daughter, Sheila Collins of Columbia City. Daughter, Nanetta Tucker of South Milford. 5 Grandchildren. 17 Great-grandchildren. Sister, Annie Kessler of Waterloo. Sister, Helen and Jack Criswell of Waterloo. Brother, Ray and Kay Collins of Wawaka.

Big Chew was also preceded in death by six sisters, Irene Belcher, Geraldine Collins, Mary Jo Bolen, Betty Van Hoozer. Nannie McPherson and Josephome Baily, one brother, Sonny Collins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 4-8pm at Independent Baptist Church in South Milford, Indiana.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11am at Independent Baptist Church in South Milford, Indiana.

Burial will take place in Orange Cemetery near Rome City.

Officiating the funeral services are Pastors Willy Collins and Ollie Smith.
