Edwin Adrian Hobbs was born in the Town of Washington, Eau Claire, Eau Claire, WI 22 Nov 1878. Edwin attended Moody Bible Institute and became a pastor. He married on 31 January 1910 to Louise L. Weber, daughter of Katrina Birckenburch (from Germany) and William Weber (from France). Louise had been a matron of the Hudelson Baptist Orphanage in Irvington, Illinois from 1905 until their marriage in 1910.

Edwin and Louise had 2 daughters: Mabel Louise Hobbs (born 26 Jan 1911 in a sod shanty in homestead country in Ralph, Harding, SD and Kathryn Jane Hobbs (born 4 Jan 1918 in Eau Claire, Eau Claire Co, WI) and then Louise died 6 weeks after Kathryn's birth on 13 Feb 1918 in Eau Claire, WI. Edwin was pastor of a Baptist church in Ralph, Harding, SD and then for a time 1917-1918 they moved back to his home town of Eau Claire, WI and he was a reporter for the Daily Press there and listed in the city directory.

After Louise's death and with two small girls, one a baby, he returned to Louise's hometown of Pekin, Tazewell, IL and in Pekin, IL on Sunday 23 March 1919 married Louise's older sister Kathryn Weber. This notice appeared in the April 1919 "Illinois Baptist Bulletin" a publication each month from Normal, IL for their denomination. Kathryn also had been matron for many years in the Hudelson Baptist Orphanage in Irvington, IL and was fondly known as "Aunt Kate." In 1920 he was a pastor in Pekin, Tazwell, IL.

In 1930 he was a pastor in Yamhill, Yamhill, Oregon. Kathryn died in June 1933 and Edwin married Lida May Coon 30 April 1944 in McMinnville, Yamhill, Oregon.

Edwin died in Marion, Oregon and was buried in the Masonic Cemetery with his second and third wives. His grave listed for that cemetery has Rev E. A. Hobbs 1874-1955. His birth listed is in error according to the birth record, WWI and WWII records which have 1878 as year of birth.
