Died in Chicago, Nellie, wife of Rev J. J. Enge and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hobbs, formerly of this place. Miss Nellie Hobbs was born in the Town of Washington on a farm on the Sparta road about eight miles from Eau Claire. Here she grew to womanhood attending public schools until she finished and then higher schools until she had fitted herself for teaching and returning, she taught several terms of school in her home town and was called a very successful teacher. She was for many years a member of the Baptist church and married Mr. Enge, a minister of that faith. Her sudden death was a great shock to her many friends here, all of whom greatly loved and respected her. She was sister to Harry and Frank Hobbs who live in our town. Her father nad mother moved to Eau Claire ten years ago where her mother, Mrs. Jennie Hobbs died a few years ago. (This should be Jane Hobbs, her mother.)
