Paul Zatz

Paul Zatz, 67 of Osage Drive, Middletown, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at home. He was the husband of Arlene (Goldberg) Zatz. Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 4, 1943, he was a son of the late Abraham and Gussie Zatz.
Paul graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and City College of New York with a B.S. in Physics. He was employed by the Naval Underwater Warfare Center in Newport for over thirty years, retiring as Senior Engineer of NUWC headquarters.
Paul was a member and past president of Temple Shalom Synagogue on Valley Road in Middletown, a member of B'nai B'rith and Temple Shalom Mens Club, and had also served as a volunteer for the AARP tax aide program.
He was most happy when visiting with family and dear friends, and tremendously enjoyed his closeness with the Water Babes of N.A.C.
Besides his wife of 42 years, he leaves his daughter Jennifer Giles and her husband Shawn of Rowley, MA, his brother Joel Zatz and his wife Arline of NJ, his sister in law and brother in law Pamela and Lowell Klosky of CA, his niece Deborah Klosky and her husband Diego of Spain, his nephews Jeffrey Klosky and his wife Mollie of VA, Robert Zatz and his wife Sharon of CT and David Zatz and his wife Kate of NJ, his great nieces Kaylee and Zoe, his great nephews Ben, Gaby, and Alex, and many close aunts and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 13th at 1pm, at Temple Shalom, 223 Valley Road, Middletown. Burial at Beth Olam Cemetery, Wyatt Road, Middletown. Shiva will be observed at the Zatz residence, 9 Osage Drive, Middletown on Sunday thru Tuesday 7-9pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Paul's memory to Temple Shalom High Holiday Book Fund or to the Newport Hospital Employee Fund.
