John died 13 Aug 1904 in Lee County, Iowa at the age of 74 years, and was buried in the Scandinavian Cemetery in Rural Keokuk, Iowa.
John and Maria were the parents of three children: Anna Sophia, Anders Gustaf and Joseph.
