RANGER- GHL Holbrook, 94, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 in Ranger. Graveside services were held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 3, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Visitation was Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. Holbrook was born November 29, 1916 in Maypearl, TX to Capalcus and Ona (Jackson) Holbrook. He graduated from Maypearl High School. GHL was a truck driver for Mrs. Bairds and Brown & Root. He married his wife Cora on September 29, 1961 in Weatherford. GHL loved to work puzzles and build wooden bird houses. Mr. Holbrook will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Blackey Holbrook. He is survived by his wife, Cora Holbrook; sons, Clifton Holbrook of Ranger, David Holbrook and wife Laura Holbrook of Abilene, Oscar Holbrook of Graham, Joseph Holbrook and wife Gloria of Bridgeport, James Holbrook of Pampa, Jimmy Holbrook, Sammy Holbrook and Mickey Holbrook all of Dallas; daughters, Virginia McCoy of Weatherford, Wanda Bradfield of Benbrook, Dorothy Wise of Ft.Worth, Peggy Wachtel of Carrolton and Kathy Marlow of Ft.Worth; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; sister, Maurene Woods of Dallas; brothers, Ottis Holbrook of Houston, Jack Holbrook of Paris and Alton Holbrook of Dallas; several nieces and nephews and a whole host of other family and friends.
