Death of Mrs. Ona Holbrook

On September 11, 1924, the entire community was never more completely overwhelmed with sorrow and sadness than when news came that Mrs. Ona Holbrook, formally Miss Ona Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.H. Jackson, was dead. She was sick only a short while and death came as a great shock. She was born Nov. 7, 1897; was married to C. Holbrook in Feb. 1916. She was converted and joined the Presbyterian Church when, but a little girl.
She was a sweet and beautiful girl. The writer considers that she was the most beautiful corpse that she has ever seen. As a wife was devoted and true; as a mother she kept the best interest of her children in mind constantly; as a neighbor she was kind, liberal and considerate. At 6:30 o'clock we left her resting beneath an avalanche of floral offerings, beautiful, loving tributes made in attestation of the love and esteem in which she was held by the entire community.
Loving hearts will miss her wise counsel and tender sympathy. The lonely husband and six little children, her mother, father sister and two brothers have our deep and sincere sympathy in these hours of bereavement. May the Great Shepherd who "Tempers the winds to the Shorn Lambs" bless and comfort the noble family is our earnest prayer.
