W. H. CHEATUM FUNERAL HELD
Aged Edina Resident Has Been an Invalid the Last Five Years.
W. H. Cheatum, resident of the east part of Edina who had been an invalid the last five years, died Friday. He was 85 years old.
He was born Nov. 14, 1856, the son of Samuel and Mary Jane Cheatum, in Lewis County, near Monticello. He was married to Miss Mollie Hoisington Nov. 12, 1890, in Knox City. Six children were born: Carl Cheatum, Novelty; Merle Cheatum, Palymra; Harold Cheatum, LaGrange; Mrs. Lois Woodard, Mrs. Dick Queen and Mrs. Charles Raymer, all of Edina.
He united with the Christian Church in Knox City when 21 years old and remained a devout Christian.
He is survived by his widow, the six children and fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. There are also two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Rosie Coe of Kansas, Mrs. Josie Martin of Oregon and Thomas Cheatum of Colorado. Five sisters and four brothers are dead.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Community Church by the Rev. F. G. Seyfarth. Burial was in Linville cemetery,
