He was Born on May 12, 1756, in Somerset County, New Jersey. He was among the first enlistments in the Millstone Company, Somerset County, New Jersey, in 1776 he served as a Pvt. in Capt. Peter D. Vroom's Battalion, 2nd Regt., Somerset County Militia and in 1777 in a company commanded by Lt. Jacobus Quick. He Married Mary or Maria LaBoyteaux (1758-1804) in 1780; children: Peter b. 1785 & Phpebe. He Died on March 24, 1807 and Buried at St. Mary Presbyterian Cemetery, Springfield Twp., Corner of Springfield Pike and Cameron Rd., Hamilton County, OH.
