Joseph Stice, 68, who moved from Alton area to Wilmington, California, a year ago, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 9, 1867 at 4 p.m. of a heart attack, according to word received by a sister, Mrs. Charles Hagan, and a brother, Harry Stice, Alton, Illinois.
Mr. Stice was employed at Owens-Illinois from 1901 to 1912, at the then Western Cartridge Co., from 1912 - 1925, and from 1925 until his retirement in 1954, at Laclede.
In addition to his Alton relatives, he was survived by his widow, Mrs. Bessie Stice, and three sisters, Mrs. Nora Campbell, Sentinel, Oklahoma; Mrs. Dora Smith, Fidelity, and Mrs. Bertha Kiner, Clinton, Arkansas.
He was born at Winchester, Illinois. He had achieved an unusual record in his years in heavy industry in the Alton area of never having had a disabling accident in his entire 53 years. (Alton Evening Telegraph, Alton, Illinois, Monday, June 10, 1957, page 9)

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie J. Ammon, 73, of 8136 Walnut Drive, were conducted in the chapel of Roy D. Klinker Mortuary with the Rev. Neal S. Jensen officiating. Interment took place in Green Hills Memorial Park. A native of Missouri, she had resided in the Southeast for 20 years. Surviving are her husband, Arthur T. Ammon; a son, Frederick Reuss of Downey; a daughter, Eunice Rodriquez of Huntington Park; five grandchildren, two great-grandsons; and three brothers, Carl, John, and William Hodapp of Missouri.
