Marjorie Haynie Cape
Funeral services for Marjorie Haynie Cape of Cordele will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Penia Baptist Church with the committal service to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Mrs. Cape, 97, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at her residence.
She was born in Ocilla, to the late James Wesley and Mary Ann Fry Haynie. She was active all her life, being a farmer, produce grower, and the co-owner and operator of Cape's Grocery. She was also a homemaker and an Avon representative. She was an active member of Penia Baptist Church and for years was very involved in the East Crisp Chapter of TOPS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Cape, Sr., two sons, Harry Cape and Jimmy Byrom Cape, grandson, Donald Cape, Jr., daughter-in-law, Irene Cape and son-in-law, Jimmy Rowe.
Mrs. Cape is survived by her children, Roy T Cape, Jr., Donald Cape and his wife, Margie, Marjorie Nell Cape Rowe, and Sylvia Cape; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, David and Christie Jo Cape, Danny and Carol Cape, Jody and Wendy Cape, Teresa Pruitt, Jeffery and Sheila Cape, Jennifer and Matt McDonald, Marla and Jody Johnson, Dennis Rowe, Deborah and Ricky Fultz, Kimberley and Chris Watson, Robyn and Ben Collins, and Jenny O‘Steen; 24 great grandchildren, Krystal White Collier, Christie Cape Shiflett, Haley Cape Calhoun, Casey White, Jessica Cape, Kara White, Jessica Fultz, Rick Fultz, Robbie Watson, Michael Rowe, Matthew Cape, Thomas Watson, Trey Johnson, Mallory Johnson, Blakely Johnson, Daniel Cape, Jonathan Cape, Bryson Cape, Brooke McDonald, Taylor Grace McDonald, Beau Collins, Noah Malone, Gunner Malone, Annaleigh Collins; and four great-great-grandchildren, Jaden Collier, Jordan Collier, Joseph Shiflett, and Kaylynn Cape.
