Mrs. Gibbs was born March 24, 1903, in Stoutsville to Samuel David and Mary Ellen Whelan Pierceall. She married Harold Jefferson Gibbs on March 1, 1924, at Indian Creek Catholic Church. He preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1980.
Survivors include one daughter, Lorna Elkins; one grandson, Paul Laratta; and one great-granddaughter, Tiffany Laratta.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Pierceall, Norbert Pierceall and Josephe Pierceall; and three sisters, Ethel Carman, Maggie Sandifer and Beatrice Bevell.
